How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Orthopaedic Scrub Lead – (Practice Educator) Kettering, Northamptonshire

    Full Time | 37.5 Hours per Week

    Salary: Up to £49,000 + Excellent Benefits

    Are you an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner looking to take the next step into leadership while helping develop the next generation of theatre professionals?

    We're recruiting for an experienced Orthopaedic Scrub Lead & (Practice Educator) to join a well-established private hospital with a busy and varied orthopaedic service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about clinical excellence, staff development and delivering outstanding patient care.

    The Role As Orthopaedic Scrub Lead & (Practice Educator), you'll combine hands-on clinical practice with leadership and education, supporting the development of the theatre team while ensuring the highest standards of patient care across a wide range of orthopaedic procedures.

    Working closely with the Theatre Manager and multidisciplinary team, you'll act as a clinical role model, mentor colleagues and help create a positive learning culture within the department.

    Key Responsibilities
    Lead and support the Orthopaedic Scrub team during elective surgery.

    Deliver exceptional standards of patient care throughout the perioperative pathway.

    Mentor, coach and support the professional development of theatre staff.

    Help create a positive learning environment for newly qualified and experienced practitioners.

    Promote best practice, patient safety and continuous quality improvement.

    Support service development and departmental initiatives.

    Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection prevention and theatre standards.

    Work across a varied orthopaedic caseload including joint replacement, spinal and trauma procedures.

    About the Hospital You'll be joining a respected independent hospital with modern theatre facilities and an excellent reputation for orthopaedic surgery. The hospital offers multiple ultra-clean laminar flow theatres and provides a broad range of elective orthopaedic procedures including:

    Total Hip Replacements

    Total Knee Replacements

    Arthroscopy

    Spinal Surgery

    Hip Resurfacing

    Complex Orthopaedic Procedures

    What We're Looking For
    Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).

    Significant experience as an Orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner.

    Previous leadership, mentorship or Practice Educator experience is highly desirable.

    Excellent knowledge of perioperative standards and clinical governance.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

    Passion for developing others and promoting best practice.

    Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

    Flexible approach to service demands.
