How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Role

    As an Electrical & Fire & Security Lecturer, you will deliver engaging practical and theory-based training to apprentices and adult learners, helping them develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for successful careers within the construction and building services industries.

    Working across classroom, workshop, and simulated industry environments, you will:

    Deliver high-quality teaching across electrical installation and fire/security programmes.
    Support apprentices and adult learners to achieve their qualifications and career goals.
    Conduct assessments, reviews, and progress tracking.
    Develop learners' technical competence and workplace behaviours.
    Promote professionalism, teamwork, communication, and employability skills.
    Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
    Maintain high standards of health and safety within workshop settings.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners to ensure outstanding learner outcomes.
    What We're Looking For:

    Essential

    ✅ Level 3 NVQ/Diploma (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation

    ✅ Significant industry experience within electrical installation, building services, or a related discipline

    ✅ Experience or knowledge of fire alarm and/or electronic security systems

    ✅ Strong practical skills and up-to-date industry knowledge

    ✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    ✅ A genuine passion for developing others and sharing your expertise

    ✅ Commitment to inspiring the next generation of electrical and security professionals

    Desirable

    ⭐ Teaching, training, coaching or assessing experience

    ⭐ Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)

    ⭐ Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications

    ⭐ Apprenticeship delivery experience

    ⭐ Knowledge of:

    Fire Detection & Alarm Systems
    CCTV Systems
    Access Control
    Intruder Alarms
    Electronic Security Systems
