How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role:                 Modern Slavery Outreach Advocate

    Location:          West Midlands

    Contract:          Permanent

    Salary:              £25,287.91 - £27,993.18 (dependent on experience)

    Hours:               Monday - Friday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours)

    A specialist support organisation is seeking a Modern Slavery Outreach Advocate to provide frontline support to victims of modern slavery and human trafficking

    The successful candidate will support clients through their recovery journey by providing practical and emotional support, risk and needs assessments, safety planning, and multi-agency advocacy within a trauma-informed environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver an effective system of regular contact, care, emotional and practical support to victims of national and international human trafficking/modern slavery, promoting confidence, independence, safety and security, to reduce the risk of being re-trafficked.
    Carry out effective and accurate preliminary risk assessments with potential victims referred into the service within KPI timescales, addressing and responding to any immediate safeguarding needs.
    Provide initial subsistence and a welcome pack to new clients and ensure that a full risk assessment, needs based assessment, history of abuse, health information and an initial journey plan is completed within KPI timescales.
    Refer and support clients to access relevant services, attend relevant multi-agency meetings and work closely with other services to create the best outcomes for victims, including domestic abuse support services, substance misuse services, health services and mental health and wellbeing services (this list is not exhaustive).
    Advocate for clients awaiting their conclusive grounds decision from the National Referral Mechanism (NRM), ensuring that they are aware of the process and their options. 
    Provide one-to-one information and support to clients on a range of rights to meet victim entitlements under Article 12 of The Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking of Human Beings (ECAT).
    Address the complex and multiple needs of clients (and their children) who are victims of forced labour, sexual exploitation, domestic servitude, criminal exploitation and any other forms of exploitation as stated in the Modern Slavery Act 2015, considering any language and cultural barriers that they may face.
    Work within the agreed timescales and key performance indicators as per the AVMS contract, including timescales for the National Referral Mechanism and immigration processes.
    Maintain accurate and confidential case recordsRequirements

    Experience supporting vulnerable adults and/or children
    Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and risk assessment
    Understanding of modern slavery, trafficking, or exploitation issues
    Strong communication, partnership working, and caseload management skills
    Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
