How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Domestic Abuse Practitioner

    Location: Dudley Borough
    Salary: £25,282.44 - £30,304.64 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
    Contract: Maternity Cover
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

    About the Role

    We are recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Practitioner to join a specialist Family Safeguarding Team, providing trauma-informed support to adults and families affected by domestic abuse.

    Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside children's social care and partner agencies, you will support parents and carers through tailored interventions, helping to reduce risk, improve safety, and achieve positive outcomes for families.

    Key Responsibilities

    Manage a caseload of individuals and families affected by domestic abuse.
    Complete risk and needs assessments, safety planning and support plans.
    Provide practical and emotional support using a trauma-informed, person-centred approach.
    Work closely with Children's Services and partner agencies to coordinate support.
    Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including Child Protection, MARAC and other safeguarding forums.
    Advocate for victims and help them access housing, legal, financial and community support services.
    Deliver domestic abuse advice, guidance and awareness to professionals within the Family Safeguarding Team.
    Maintain accurate case records and ensure all safeguarding and GDPR requirements are met.

    About You

    We're looking for someone who has:

    A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent experience).
    Experience supporting adults and families affected by domestic abuse.
    Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and safety planning.
    Experience managing complex caseloads and working with vulnerable adults and children.
    Strong communication, partnership working and report writing skills.
    A trauma-informed, person-centred approach with excellent organisational skills.

    Requirements

    Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
    Enhanced DBS check.
    Right to work in the UK.
    Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends if required.
