How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people?

Our client, an independent specialist school in Scunthorpe, is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 11-16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Many pupils have EHCPs and benefit from tailored support for needs such as ADHD and ASD. The school provides a calm, structured, and nurturing environment for young people who have found mainstream education challenging, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.

    What You'll Do

Assist pupils with learning activities, adapting support to individual needs under teacher guidance.
Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.
Help manage behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence in learning tasks. What We're Looking For

Experience supporting pupils in an educational or care setting.
Experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs.
Awareness of safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEND principles.
Ability to support teaching and learning effectively under supervision.
Patience, empathy, adaptability, and a positive attitude. Benefits of the Role

    NEST enhanced pension scheme
Staff referral scheme - refer a friend and share a £500 referral bonus
    Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
Access to a blue light discount card
Fully funded training and qualifications for all colleagues
Enhanced pay scales based on experience and qualifications
Employee benefits scheme, including a wellbeing app and range of discounts
Life assurance Commitment to Equality & Safeguarding

Our client is proud to be an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, including veterans and military families. Eligible service personnel and veterans are guaranteed an interview when their experience is detailed in their CV.

All posts require an enhanced DBS check and adherence to safeguarding policies to ensure the welfare and safety of children and young people. School tours are highly encouraged as part of the interview process

If you're ready to inspire, support, and transform the educational experience of young people with SEND, we'd love to help you apply for this opportunity
