Want to move away from spending your days carrying out inspections and into a role where you'll genuinely influence how Health and Safety is delivered?
We're working with a growing residential construction business that's looking to appoint a Health and Safety Business Partner to support its East Anglia & Northern Home Counties region.
This isn't a traditional Health and Safety Advisor role.
Site inspections are carried out by an external specialist provider. Your focus will be on understanding the findings, working alongside operational teams and senior leaders, and coaching them to improve performance before issues arise. You'll be a trusted business partner, helping embed accountability and create a proactive Health and Safety culture across the region.
You'll work across regional offices and live projects, partnering with everyone from Site Managers through to senior leadership.
Success in this role isn't measured by the number of inspections you complete. It's measured by your ability to influence people, challenge thinking, coach managers and improve performance.
What's in it for you:
£60,000 - £65,000 salary
£6,000 Car Allowance
Discretionary Bonus
10% Pension Scheme
Private Medical Insurance
Life Assurance
26 days Annual Leave + Bank Holidays
Hybrid working with flexibility to manage your own diary
What you will be doing:
Coach and influence managers at all levels to improve Health and Safety performance
Drive proactive conversations from the earliest stages of developments
Support Construction Phase Plans and provide practical CDM guidance
Review inspection findings with the external Health and Safety provider and identify root causes rather than symptoms
Lead meaningful conversations that encourage ownership and accountability
Support accident investigations and share lessons learned across the business
Build strong relationships with operational, technical and leadership teams
Act as the link between the regional business and the external Health and Safety inspection provider.
What they’re looking for:
You'll be someone who naturally builds credibility with people on site and in the boardroom.
You'll know how to ask the right questions, challenge positively and coach people to make better decisions rather than simply telling them what they've done wrong.
You'll ideally have:
NEBOSH Diploma or be working towards it
CMIOSH or be working towards Chartered status
Residential Construction experience would be ideal, although wider construction backgrounds will also be considered.
Strong coaching, communication and stakeholder management skills
A proactive mindset with a genuine passion for improving culture, not just compliance.
If you're looking for a role where your ability to influence people is valued just as much as your technical knowledge, we'd love to hear from you
Salary description
£60000.00 - £65000.00 per year
