How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Riverside Way,

    Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    About the Role

Are you an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a solid background in water and wastewater process engineering? We are looking for a proactive, meticulous engineer to drive hands-on commissioning, systems integration, and front-line site leadership across the full project lifecycle-from early design through to final handover.

Operating out of our Watchmoor Park location, you will play a critical role in ensuring our multi-disciplinary projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest technical standards.

    Key Responsibilities

Full Lifecycle Commissioning: Develop robust commissioning plans and procedures, lead FAT/SAT testing, configure analytical equipment, and manage defect close-outs from design to handover.
On-Site Leadership & Supervision: Act as a front-line supervisor, overseeing installation and commissioning activities, approving RAMS, and managing third-party contractors to guarantee snag-free delivery.
Technical Integration & Problem Solving: Interpret P&IDs, FDS, and electrical/mechanical schematics; troubleshoot complex issues; and initiate design changes where necessary.
Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ): Drive SHEQ behavioural improvement initiatives and ensure strict adherence to statutory legislation, industry standards, and ITPs.
Stakeholder & Client Liaison: Support Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), deliver weekly progress briefings to senior management, and conduct training for client operations and maintenance teams.
Appointed Person Duties: Undertake either an Electrical or Mechanical Authorised Person (AP) role (subject to assessment and training).

    What We Are Looking For

    Experience & Qualifications

Industry Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a commissioning role within the Water / Wastewater sector, working directly with a main contractor.
Education: HNC/HND, Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, or an Engineering Apprenticeship & NVQ within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Professional Status: Professional engineering registration/membership is highly advantageous.

    Certifications & Qualifications (Required)

    ECS (CSCS) Card
    EUSR Water Hygiene Card
    SSSTS or SMSTS
    BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
    First Aid at Work
    (Desirable) CompEx Qualifications

    Key Skills & Competencies

Deep technical understanding of M&E and water/wastewater process engineering.
Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills with an approachable manner.
A proactive, structured, and detail-oriented approach to project delivery and value engineering.
Ability to work independently while effectively leading and motivating site teams.

    Why Join Us?

This is an essential role within our core management team. You will have direct ownership over key technical deliverable, the authority to lead on-site operations, and access to ongoing training to expand your capabilities (including AP and supervisory accreditation's).

    How to Apply

If you have the technical expertise and leadership drive to keep our water infrastructure projects running safely and efficiently, we want to hear from you.

Apply today by submitting your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience.
