How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Pathfinder Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)
    Location: Black Country (Sandwell, Dudley, Walsall & surrounding areas)
    Salary: £25,282.44 – £28,861.62 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
    Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours (Monday–Friday)

    About the Role

    We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Pathfinder Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to join our specialist team supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse within the Pathfinder pilot framework.

    This role has a strong focus on the Family Court arena, working as part of an innovative, multi-agency approach to improve outcomes for families experiencing domestic abuse. You will play a key role in ensuring that the voices of survivors are heard within court proceedings, and that risk, safety, and the needs of both adults and children are clearly understood by all professionals involved.

    You will provide trauma-informed, person-centred support, helping individuals navigate the complexities of the family justice system while prioritising their safety and wellbeing.

    Key Responsibilities

    Deliver specialist Pathfinder IDVA support to victims/survivors engaged in Family Court proceedings
    Act as a consistent point of contact throughout the court journey, ensuring clients feel informed, supported, and empowered
    Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments (including DASH) and develop robust, tailored safety plans
    Work closely with Family Court professionals and Pathfinder partners to ensure domestic abuse risks are appropriately identified and addressed
    Advocate effectively within the court process, ensuring the survivor’s voice, experiences, and safety concerns are clearly represented
    Prepare high-quality reports and documentation to inform court decisions and multi-agency discussions
    Support clients to understand court processes, outcomes, and their rights within the family justice system
    Collaborate within a multi-agency Pathfinder model, including social care, court services, and specialist agencies
    Maintain accurate, confidential case records in line with organisational and legal requirements
    Manage a complex caseload, prioritising high-risk cases effectively
    Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action in accordance with policies and procedures
    Signpost and refer clients to additional support services, ensuring holistic support

    Requirements

    Proven experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally within domestic abuse or a related field
    Strong understanding of domestic abuse within the context of Family Court proceedings
    Experience of risk assessment, safety planning, and safeguarding practices
    Ability to work confidently within a multi-agency and court-based environment
    Excellent advocacy, communication, and report-writing skills
    Ability to manage a demanding caseload and meet deadlines
    Competent IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office and case management systems)
    Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicleSupporting Futures Consulting acts as both an employer and an agency
