Ecologist (Tree Climbing)

My client is a part of a group that offers a range of services, including ecological consultancy. They were established over 40 years ago and have provided services to their clients nationally ever since. They work on a range of large-scale infrastructure projects as well as conservation and others.
Your new role
We are looking for an Ecologist to support tree climbing works on a major UK infrastructure project. This is an excellent opportunity that is available full time from September-December with the potential of an extension through till April 2027.

Key responsibilities will include:

Conducting protected species and habitat surveys
Tree Climbing
Assessments and reporting
Providing ecological advice to site teams and contractors
Liaising with project stakeholders and environmental specialists
What you'll need to succeed

Highways Passport and CSCS
Safety Critical and Medical
Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue
Your own PPE
Previous experience working as an Ecologist within consultancy, construction, or infrastructure environments
Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological survey methodologies
Experience undertaking protected species surveys and habitat assessments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to the site
