How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Location: Split across St Ives (Slough) & Hemel Hempstead

    Our client is a well established and highly regarded M&E contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high quality projects across the commercial, industrial, healthcare, education and public sectors. With decades of industry experience, they have built long standing relationships with clients through their commitment to quality, innovation and exceptional service.

    Due to a growing pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Document Controller to support two key live projects located in St Ives (Slough) and Hemel Hempstead. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward thinking contractor that values organisation, teamwork and continuous improvement, while playing an integral role in the successful delivery of major construction projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage and maintain all project documentation using the company's document management systems.

    * Ensure all drawings, specifications and technical documents are correctly issued, received and distributed.

    * Maintain document registers, revision logs and project records.

    * Liaise with site teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients to ensure documentation is up to date.

    * Monitor document workflows and ensure deadlines for submissions and approvals are met.

    * Carry out quality checks on incoming and outgoing documentation.

    * Archive project documentation in line with company procedures upon project completion.

    * Support the project management team with general administrative duties where required.

    * Ensure compliance with company document control procedures and project requirements.

    * Produce reports on document status and outstanding actions.

    You'll have:

    * Previous experience as a Document Controller within the construction industry

    * Experience working on live construction projects

    * Knowledge of document management systems such as Aconex, Viewpoint, Asite, 4Projects, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or similar

    * The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.

    * Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with a range of stakeholders.
