How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Portfolio Analyst

    Location: Aldermaston (Hybrid, by agreement with Line Manager)

    Package: £39,500 - £59,350 (depending on your suitability, qualifications and level of experience)

    Turn Data into Decisions

    At AWE, our P3M Digital, Data, Tools and Systems team enable informed decision-making across some of the UK's most complex projects, programmes and portfolios. We're looking for a Portfolio Analyst who is passionate about data, analytics and continuous improvement.

    This is an opportunity to combine project, programme and portfolio delivery knowledge with modern digital tools, transforming data into meaningful insight that drives better outcomes.

    What You'll Do:

    Build impactful dashboards and reports using digital solutions.

    Analyse portfolio, programme and project data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and emerging issues.

    Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and turn data into actionable insight.

    Improve reporting and management information through automation, innovation and continuous improvement.

    Help shape the future of P3M Digital and Data across AWE.

    What We're Looking For:

    Strong data literacy and analytical thinking.

    Experience using data and reporting tools to create meaningful visualisations and insights.

    The ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.

    Prior experience in a project or programme environment.

    Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

    A curious mindset with a passion for solving problems and improving how information is used.

    An interest in coding, automation, data engineering or AI-enabled analytics.

    Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:

    Building with tools within the Microsoft Suite (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query) and others.

    Basic understanding of programming languages such as Python, SQL or DAX.

    Portfolio, programme or project delivery experience.
