How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Our Risk and Assurance team sits within L&Q's Transformation and Change function. We help the organisation make informed, confident decisions by strengthening how risk is identified, understood, and managed across the business.

    From supporting the corporate strategy to ensuring we're prepared for unexpected events, our work plays a critical role in keeping L&Q resilient in an increasingly complex and fast-moving world.

    Overview of the role:
    This is an exciting opportunity for a curious and motivated graduate to start a career in risk management and organisational resilience.

    You'll work closely with experienced professionals to help embed L&Q's Risk and Assurance Framework across the organisation, while also playing a key role in strengthening our approach to critical incident management and business continuity.

    From day one, you'll be contributing to meaningful work - analysing risks, supporting workshops, working with colleagues across the business, and helping ensure we're ready to respond to challenges when they arise.

    Alongside your day-to-day role, you'll complete recognised qualifications in Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity, building both technical expertise and practical experience.

    You'll join a supportive and experienced Risk and Assurance team of 5 which sits within the larger Transformation and Change directorate which leads on the Group's large Transformation Portfolio - central to the delivery of the new 5-year corporate strategy.     Your impact in the role:

    In this role, you'll:
    Support the embedding of L&Q's Risk and Assurance Framework across the organisation
    Assist with risk workshops and risk reviews, helping teams identify and manage key risks
    Analyse risk, control and assurance information to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement
    Contribute to horizon scanning and scenario analysis, helping us prepare for emerging risks
    Help strengthen our critical incident and business continuity planning, working with teams to ensure robust plans are in place
    Support the testing of business continuity and incident response plans, ensuring we are prepared for real-world events
    Maintain and improve risk management systems and records
    Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the business to support a proactive risk culture Through your work, you'll directly contribute to the delivery of L&Q's corporate strategy and help ensure we remain resilient in the face of change.

    What you'll bring:
    A Degree; would especially suit someone with a Business Administration, Analytics, Housing or Public Policy. (any discipline, though Business, Analytics, Housing or Public Policy are particularly relevant but not essential).
    Minimum qualification level - Maths and English Level 4 GCSE
    Strong analytical skills and a questioning mindset - able to interpret information and challenge assumptions.
    Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly
    A collaborative approach, and able to gain confidence to work with a range of stakeholders
    Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
    A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and willingness to take ownership
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Graduates
