How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Housing Interventions Worker
    Location: Bridgend
    Salary: £26,000 per annum
    Vacancy Type: Permanent
    Are you passionate about helping people rebuild their lives through safe, sustainable housing? We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Housing Support Worker to join our team, delivering specialist housing interventions that prevent homelessness and improve housing outcomes for men on probation and those preparing for release from custody.
    In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals to secure and sustain accommodation, helping to reduce reoffending and promote successful reintegration into the community. Working in partnership with Prison and Probation Services, local authorities, landlords, and other key stakeholders, you will provide tailored housing advice, practical support, and advocacy to meet each person's individual needs.
    About the Role
    You will deliver person-centered housing interventions, completing holistic assessments to identify housing and wider support needs. Using these assessments, you will develop structured action plans and make appropriate referrals to specialist services, ensuring
    individuals receive the support they need to achieve long-term housing stability.
    Working as part of the Camau team, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across prisons, probation, housing providers, and partner agencies. You will contribute to a high-quality service focused on homelessness prevention, public protection, and reducing reoffending, while working safely in line with organisational lone working, safeguarding, and risk management procedures.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Deliver one-to-one housing advice and support to men on probation and individuals in custody preparing for release.
    * Complete comprehensive housing needs assessments and develop personalised support plans.
    * Deliver effective housing interventions that prevent homelessness and improve access to suitable accommodation.
    * Make referrals to specialist support services where additional needs are identified.
    * Build and maintain positive relationships with prison, probation, housing, and community partners.
    * Liaise with landlords and accommodation providers, including arranging property viewings, negotiating tenancy agreements, and supporting tenancy sign-up.
    * Source suitable accommodation within the private rented sector, including shared housing, HMOs, studio apartments, and one-bedroom properties.
    * Develop and maintain relationships with landlords and letting agents willing to accommodate individuals receiving Universal Credit or Housing Benefit.
    * Work closely with local authority housing teams, registered social landlords, charitable organisations, and other accommodation providers to maximise housing opportunities.
    * Ensure all accommodation meets legal, health and safety, and regulatory standards, including Rent Smart Wales requirements, valid Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), gas safety certification, and smoke and carbon monoxide alarm compliance.
    * Encourage and support service users to engage with Forward Connect and other relevant Forward services.
