How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you a talented Bid Writer with a passion for creating compelling, high-quality submissions that win work?

    We are looking for an experienced Bid Writer to join the pre-construction team of a leading UK construction contractor. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing projects across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, education, healthcare, industrial, residential, leisure and public sector developments.

    Working alongside bid managers, estimators, operational teams and senior leadership, you will be responsible for producing engaging, client-focused submissions that showcase the organisation's expertise, values and ability to deliver exceptional projects.

    Bid Writer roles & responsibilities

    Writing and editing high-quality responses for PQQs, SQs, ITTs and framework submissions.
    Interpreting client requirements and tailoring responses to meet evaluation criteria.
    Working closely with operational, commercial and technical teams to gather information and develop compelling content.
    Creating and maintaining a library of case studies, CVs, project information and standard responses.
    Reviewing submissions to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance.
    Supporting bid planning meetings and coordinating contributions from internal stakeholders.
    Assisting with presentation materials and interview preparation for tender submissions.
    Capturing client feedback and incorporating lessons learned into future bids.
    Keeping content up to date with the latest project achievements, innovations and best practiceBid Writer requirements

    Previous experience as a Bid Writer, Proposal Writer or similar role within the construction, engineering or built environment sector.
    Excellent written English with outstanding proofreading and editing skills.
