How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Chef de Partie

    Swindon

    Full Time – Permanent

    Salary is dependent on experience

    We are currently recruiting for a Chef de Partie to join our client based on the outskirts of Swindon.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage and oversee a specific section of the kitchen during service.

    * Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the hotel's quality standards.

    * Ensure all food is prepared using fresh ingredients and correct cooking techniques.

    * Maintain consistency in food quality, portion control, and presentation.

    * Assist with menu development and seasonal specials.

    * Support and mentor Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants.

    * Monitor stock levels and report shortages to senior Chefs.

    * Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen organisation.

    * Ensure compliance with Food Safety, HACCP, allergen regulations, and health & safety procedures.

    * Work effectively under pressure during busy service periods, including weddings, conferences, and events.

    Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef de Partie within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.

    * Excellent knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.

    * Ability to work confidently across different kitchen sections.

    * Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.

    * Good organisational and time-management skills.

    * Ability to work effectively within a team.

    * Passion for fresh, seasonal produce and high-quality food.

    * Flexible approach to working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

    Desirable Qualifications

    * NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or equivalent.

    * Food Safety Level 2 Certificate.

    * Experience within a hotel, spa, wedding, or banqueting operation.
