How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You’ll work closely with the Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor and operational teams, ensuring that project costs are captured accurately and that the team receives reliable administrative and commercial support.

    *

Ensuring records are maintained in line with GDPR and company procedures

    *

Providing wider administrative support to help the site office run efficiently

    About You

You’ll ideally have previous experience as a Cost Clerk, Project Administrator, Commercial Administrator, Site Administrator or in a similar support role within construction, civil engineering, highways or infrastructure.

Experience of cost capture, purchase orders, goods receipting and invoice processing would be particularly valuable. You should also be comfortable working with financial or commercial systems and handling detailed information accurately.

Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills are essential, along with the ability to manage several priorities and meet deadlines in a busy project environment.

You’ll be organised, proactive and detail-focused, with the confidence to communicate effectively with commercial teams, site-based colleagues, suppliers and other project stakeholders.

    Salary and Benefits

    The successful candidate will receive:

    *

Salary of £24,800–£32,000, dependent on experience

    *

    Six-month fixed-term contract

    *

Pension scheme with combined contributions of up to 10%

    *

Life assurance at four times basic salary

    *

25 days’ annual leave plus public holidays, pro rata

    *

    Holiday purchase and selling scheme

    *

    Enhanced maternity and paternity benefits
