How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Hours: 40 hours per week
PAYE rate: £12.71–£15.38 per hour, dependent on experience
Umbrella rate: Approximately £17.50–£21.00 per hour assignment rate

    The Opportunity

We’re recruiting a Cost Clerk / Project Administrator to join the site-based delivery team working on a major A46 highways infrastructure project near Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.

This is a full-time temporary position for up to six months, supporting the project through to its scheduled completion towards the end of 2026.

The scheme involves major improvements to the A46 junction, including the construction of a new bridge and redesigned slip roads. The completed project will help reduce congestion, improve road safety and provide additional capacity to support future growth across the area.

You’ll work closely with the Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor and operational teams, helping to ensure project costs are captured accurately and the wider team receives reliable commercial and administrative support.

    The Role

This is a varied position combining cost administration, commercial reporting and general project support. Your responsibilities will include:

    *

Recording and validating labour, plant, equipment and subcontractor costs

    *

Raising purchase orders and processing goods receipts

    *

Supporting invoice processing and resolving cost queries

    *

Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation

    *

Providing information for cost reporting, forecasting and cost control

    *

Assisting with monthly reporting and cost value reconciliations

    *

    Supporting payroll and timesheet administration

    *

Maintaining project databases and document-control systems

    *

Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams

    *

Providing general administrative support to help the site office run efficiently

    About You

You’ll ideally have previous experience as a Cost Clerk, Project Administrator, Commercial Administrator, Site Administrator or in a similar support role.

Experience gained within construction, civil engineering, highways or infrastructure would be particularly useful, although applications are also welcomed from candidates with transferable experience from another project-led environment.

You should have experience of some of the following:

    *

Cost capture and maintaining financial records

    *

    Purchase orders and goods receipting

    *

    Invoice processing

    *

    Timesheets or payroll administration

    *

    Commercial or financial reporting systems

    *

    Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

You’ll be highly organised, accurate and comfortable managing several priorities in a busy project environment. Strong communication skills are also important, as you’ll regularly work with commercial teams, site colleagues, suppliers and subcontractors.

    Pay Options

PAYE: £12.71–£15.38 per hour, dependent on experience. Holiday pay will be provided in accordance with the agreed PAYE arrangement.

Umbrella: Approximately £17.50–£21.00 per hour assignment rate. This is the amount paid to the umbrella company and is not the worker’s gross or take-home pay. The umbrella company will deduct its employment costs and margin before calculating taxable gross pay.

    About the Company

You’ll be joining a highly regarded international infrastructure and construction specialist with an established presence across the UK.

The business delivers major projects across the highways, civil engineering, airfield and infrastructure sectors and is recognised for investing in its people, promoting professional development and delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cost Clerk or construction administrator to contribute to a major highways scheme and gain further experience within an established project team.
