How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A growing construction consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to join its Nottingham team and work across a varied portfolio of private-sector building projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with consultancy experience to take greater ownership of projects across sectors such as commercial, residential, industrial and mixed-use development. The successful Project Manager will work closely with clients, consultants and contractors from the early stages of a project through to completion.

The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating project teams, maintaining programmes and ensuring each commission is delivered in line with the client's objectives. This Project Manager role would suit someone who is confident managing multiple workstreams and who wants to develop within a supportive consultancy. As the Project Manager, you will also contribute to client relationships, project reporting and the continued growth of the Nottingham office.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Project Manager's role

The Project Manager will manage private-sector construction projects through pre-contract and post-contract stages. Responsibilities will include preparing programmes, coordinating design information, managing risk registers, monitoring budgets and reporting progress to clients.

The Project Manager will chair project meetings, coordinate multidisciplinary consultants and work closely with contractors throughout delivery. You will also support procurement, contract administration, change control and project close-out while ensuring deadlines, quality standards and commercial objectives are maintained.

The role will provide exposure to a broad range of building projects, offering the Project Manager the opportunity to strengthen both technical and client-facing skills.

    The Project Manager

The successful Project Manager will have:

Previous experience working for a construction consultancy.
    Experience managing private-sector building projects.
A relevant degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Knowledge of pre-contract and post-contract project management.
Experience coordinating architects, engineers and other consultants.
An understanding of JCT contracts, procurement and risk management.
Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder-management skills.
Progress towards APM, RICS or CIOB chartership would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence would be beneficial.

    In Return?

    £45,000 - £55,000
Support towards chartership and professional development.
25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
    Enhanced employer pension contribution.
Life assurance and company sick pay.
    Regular training and mentoring.
Exposure to varied private-sector building projects.
Clear progression towards Senior Project Manager.
A supportive and expanding consultancy environment.
