How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A leading independent construction consultancy is seeking a Project Manager to join its Manchester office and deliver a varied portfolio of high-quality built-environment projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with construction consultancy experience to work across commercial, residential, hospitality, retail and mixed-use developments. The successful Project Manager will manage projects from initial brief and feasibility through procurement, construction and completion.

The Project Manager will act as a key client contact, coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and maintaining clear control of programme, risk, quality and cost. This Project Manager role would suit an ambitious professional who enjoys working in a client-facing environment and wants to progress within a respected consultancy. As the Project Manager, you will be trusted to manage your own commissions while receiving support from experienced senior colleagues.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Project Manager's role

The Project Manager will deliver projects across both pre-contract and post-contract stages. Responsibilities will include preparing project execution plans, programmes, risk registers and progress reports, alongside coordinating architects, engineers, cost consultants and contractors.

The Project Manager will chair project meetings, monitor key milestones, manage change-control procedures and advise clients on procurement and delivery strategy. You will also support tender processes, administer building contracts where appropriate and ensure that project information is issued accurately and on time.

The position will involve maintaining strong client relationships, identifying project risks and ensuring each commission is delivered in line with the agreed brief, programme and quality requirements.

    The Project Manager

The successful Project Manager will have:

Previous project management experience within a construction consultancy.
    Experience delivering private-sector building projects.
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Knowledge of JCT contracts and common procurement routes.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and consultancy teams.
Strong client-facing, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Membership of, or progress towards, APM, RICS or CIOB chartership.
The ability to manage several projects and competing deadlines effectively.

    In Return?

    £45,000 - £55,000
    Discretionary bonus.
Support towards chartership and professional development.
    Pension and private healthcare.
    Annual leave plus bank holidays.
Exposure to major projects across Manchester and the wider North West.
Clear progression to Senior Project Manager.
A collaborative and established consultancy environment.
