How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join a well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy with a strong pipeline of infrastructure, residential and commercial projects across both the public and private sectors. The successful Assistant Project Manager will work alongside experienced Project Managers and Cost Managers, gaining exposure to projects of varying size and complexity while receiving structured mentoring, professional development and support towards chartership. This Assistant Project Manager role is ideal for someone looking to accelerate their career within a consultancy environment.

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of construction projects from inception through to completion. The Assistant Project Manager will be given increasing responsibility while working closely with senior professionals, clients and contractors, making this an excellent opportunity for someone eager to develop their technical and commercial knowledge within a collaborative consultancy environment.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

    The Assistant Project Manager's role

As the Assistant Project Manager, you will support both pre-contract and post-contract project management services across a diverse portfolio of building and infrastructure projects. Responsibilities will include preparing project programmes, maintaining risk registers, attending client and site meetings, producing reports, monitoring project progress and assisting with contract administration.

The Assistant Project Manager will help coordinate stakeholders, prepare meeting agendas and minutes, undertake site inspections, monitor project milestones and ensure projects are delivered to agreed timescales and quality standards. You'll be encouraged to take ownership of your workload while receiving ongoing guidance from experienced Project Managers as your responsibilities develop.

    The Assistant Project Manager

To be considered for this Assistant Project Manager position, you should have:

Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager within a construction consultancy.
A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or another construction-related discipline.
An understanding of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Experience using Microsoft Project, Word and Excel.
A proactive attitude and a genuine desire to progress towards chartership (APM, RICS or CIOB).
A full UK driving licence would be advantageous.

    In Return?

    £30,000 - £40,000
Chartership support and structured career development.
Exposure to a varied portfolio of infrastructure, residential and commercial projects.
    Pension contribution.
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
    Life assurance.
    Company sick pay.
Training and mentoring from experienced professionals.
    Employee benefits platform.
    Cycle to Work scheme.
    Enhanced family leave.
Long-term career progression with an expanding construction consultancy.
