How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A specialist cost consultancy in London is seeking an MEP Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused surveyor to work across technically demanding building services packages on a range of high-quality construction projects.

The appointed MEP Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial management of mechanical and electrical works from early estimating and tender stage through to final account. You will work closely with clients, design teams, contractors, and specialist subcontractors, providing clear cost advice and helping ensure that MEP packages are delivered within budget.

This position would suit an MEP Quantity Surveyor with UK consultancy or contractor-side experience who is looking to deepen their technical expertise, gain greater client exposure, and progress within a specialist and supportive environment.

MEP Quantity Surveyor - Key Responsibilities:

Preparing MEP cost plans, estimates, and tender documentation

Reviewing mechanical and electrical contractor submissions

Managing valuations, variations, change control, and final accounts

Producing commercial reports and maintaining accurate cost forecasts

Attending client meetings, design reviews, and site inspections

Providing procurement and cost advice across building services packages

Working closely with project teams to identify and manage commercial risk

MEP Quantity Surveyor - Candidate Requirements:

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction discipline

Previous experience working with mechanical and electrical packages

UK consultancy, contractor, or specialist subcontractor experience

Strong understanding of pre- and post-contract cost management

Confident numerical, reporting, and communication skills

Able to manage workload effectively across multiple projects

MRICS or working towards chartership would be advantageous

    In Return:

    £50,000-£60,000 per annum

25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

    Hybrid working arrangements

    Pension scheme

    Professional membership fees paid

    Structured training and career development

Exposure to technically complex MEP projects

    Clear opportunities for progression
