How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Hexagon Group is delighted to be partnering with a leading real estate investment company to recruit a Technical Services Manager, responsible for overseeing the technical operations across a prestigious portfolio of commercial buildings in Central London. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly respected organisation with an outstanding reputation for investing in both its people and its property portfolio. The salary on offer is £70,000 - £75,000, depending on experience, alongside an outstanding benefits package.

As Technical Services Manager, you will work closely with the wider building management teams to ensure the portfolio is maintained to the highest possible standard. With a strong focus on delivering best-in-class technical services, you will play a key role in protecting and enhancing the performance of these high-profile assets while ensuring an exceptional experience for occupiers.

You will be responsible for managing specialist hard services contractors across the portfolio, monitoring performance against agreed service levels and ensuring consistently high standards are achieved. The role will see you supporting energy management and sustainability initiatives, analysing building performance and implementing innovative solutions that improve efficiency while supporting the organisation's wider environmental objectives. You will also work closely with occupiers, consultants and internal stakeholders, providing technical expertise, resolving building-related queries, supporting long-term asset management strategies, and overseeing the planned preventative maintenance programme.

A proactive approach is essential, with responsibility for managing reactive maintenance issues, coordinating contractors to deliver timely resolutions, and ensuring minimal disruption to occupiers. You will support the preparation and management of service charge budgets alongside the property management team, monitor health and safety performance across the portfolio, and ensure full statutory compliance is maintained at all times. In addition, you will oversee technical projects, liaise with consultants and contractors throughout delivery, and provide technical support to the wider property team when required.

The successful candidate will possess a strong mechanical and electrical background, ideally supported by an HNC, HND, Degree or Master's qualification in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. You will have proven experience managing technical services across multi-tenanted commercial buildings, with a comprehensive understanding of hard services FM, statutory compliance and building engineering. You will be a confident communicator, capable of building strong relationships with occupiers, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders alike.

Our client is looking to commence interviews as soon as possible, so if this opportunity is of interest, please don't hesitate to apply with a copy of your CV
