How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Project Manager – Industrial Automation / NEC3 & NEC4 Contracts – North West / Cheshire – £65-70k + Flexible Benefits

Samuel Frank is recruiting for a growing systems integration business in the North West as they're looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects under NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.

This Senior Project Manager role will suit someone who has managed complex engineering projects from concept through to completion, either working for an engineering contractor/supplier or directly for an end user. Experience within sectors such as water, utilities, food production or other process manufacturing environments would be highly advantageous.

    Key aspects of the Senior Project Manager role include;

    * Delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects under NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts, ensuring commercial, contractual and technical obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle

    * Previous experience working for either a systems integrator, engineering contractor, EPC, OEM or directly within an end user environment

    * Managing projects from initial scope definition and planning through procurement, installation, commissioning and final handover

    * Strong understanding of contract administration, compensation events, early warnings, change management and commercial risk under NEC contracts

    * Mainly office-based role – offices are modern collaborative workspaces

    * Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and internal engineering teams

    * Coordinating electrical, controls, mechanical and process engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery

    * Managing project budgets, forecasts, programme milestones and resource planning across multiple live projects

    * Working closely with engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical standards

    * Supporting installation and commissioning activities with occasional travel to customer sites across the UK

    * Previous experience delivering projects within sectors such as water, wastewater, utilities, food & beverage, process manufacturing, energy or similar highly regulated industries

    * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence customers, subcontractors and internal teams

    * Ideally qualified in Project Management (APM, PRINCE2 or similar), although relevant industry experience is considered equally valuable

    * Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK without sponsorship

The company has built an excellent reputation for delivering technically challenging automation and control systems projects across a range of industrial sectors. They continue to grow steadily and invest heavily in their people, providing genuine opportunities for career progression, ongoing professional development and support towards further qualifications where appropriate.

This Senior Project Manager position offers the opportunity to work on technically interesting, high-value engineering projects with blue-chip customers in an organisation that genuinely values collaboration, autonomy and long-term career development.

The office is commutable from Manchester, Warrington, Liverpool, Wigan, Bolton, Preston, Blackburn, Chorley, Stockport, Northwich, Chester and surrounding areas.
