How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Peer Support Worker to play a pivotal role in our Ealing MHCA in Ealing.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

Our aim is to help people reduce distress, feel heard, and regain a sense of stability during times of crisis. Visitors can access one-to-one support, assistance with developing short and long-term safety plans, practical guidance, and signposting to relevant services. Refreshments are also available, helping to create a comfortable and welcoming space. In addition, the service offers a range of wellbeing-focused activities, including peer support sessions, creative groups, and recovery-based programmes that encourage connection, self-expression, and resilience.

As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred support and interventions to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis within a hospital setting. You will work alongside clients throughout their time within the service, providing responsive, compassionate support that helps them feel safe, understood, and empowered. Through collaborative and recovery-focused practice, you will support clients to identify coping strategies, build resilience, and develop the confidence and resources needed to move forward safely once the immediate crisis has passed.

All support and interventions must be delivered in line with Hestia's values, the principles of recovery and co-production, and all relevant policies, procedures, and safeguarding requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people experiencing some of their most challenging moments, helping them find hope, stability, and a pathway towards recovery within a supportive hospital environment.

Please note that this role is based within a hospital setting and is an out-of-hours position. You will be expected to work between 2pm and 10pm on a rota basis, including weekends.
