We are looking for reliable and hardworking Street Scene Operatives to join a respected Local Authority service based in DE7 4RA.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors and take pride in helping to keep local communities clean, safe and welcoming. The role involves servicing public litter bins and supporting street cleansing operations across the local area.
The Role
As a Street Scene Operative, you will play a vital role in maintaining public spaces by emptying litter bins and ensuring streets, parks and communal areas remain clean and presentable.
You will work as part of a dedicated team using Transit Tipper Vans to collect and dispose of waste efficiently while delivering a high standard of service to the local community.
Key Responsibilities
* Empty public litter bins across designated routes.
* Operate and work from Transit Tipper Vans.
* Collect, transport and responsibly dispose of waste.
* Maintain the cleanliness of streets, parks and public open spaces.
* Assist with general street scene and environmental maintenance duties.
* Report damaged bins, fly-tipping, graffiti and other environmental issues.
* Carry out duties safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
* Provide a professional and courteous service when interacting with members of the public.
* Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
What We're Looking For
* Reliable, punctual and hardworking individuals.
* Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work.
* Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
* Good awareness of health and safety practices.
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
* Flexible approach to working hours and service requirements.
* Full UK driving licence desirable.
* Previous experience in waste collection, street cleansing, grounds maintenance or environmental services would be advantageous but is not essential.
