How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Description

Join Trant Engineering and help shape the delivery of complex, high-impact projects.

Trant Engineering is a leading EPC contractor with a strong reputation for delivering innovative engineering solutions across the UK and internationally.

We are seeking an experienced Resource Operations Manager to join our delivery team on a major petrochemical refinery project. This is a key operational role responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising construction resources across multiple projects, ensuring the right people, plant, equipment, and materials are available to deliver work safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment, you will play a vital role in maximising productivity, maintaining workforce utilisation, and supporting successful project delivery in a live, high-hazard operating environment.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, mobilisation, and allocation of construction resources across multiple projects and disciplines.

Develop and maintain workforce plans to meet current and future project demands.

Coordinate the onboarding, induction, and deployment of direct employees and subcontractor personnel.

Work collaboratively with project delivery teams to forecast labour requirements and respond to changing priorities.

Monitor resource utilisation, productivity, and performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency.

Ensure all personnel hold the appropriate competencies, certifications, and site authorisations.

Support recruitment activities and maintain strong relationships with labour providers and subcontract partners.

Produce regular resource reports, forecasts, and workforce metrics for senior management.

Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all resource activities comply with company procedures, client requirements, and statutory regulations.

Regular client engagement to maintain understanding of requirements to drive productivity in a fast-paced complex environment.

    Core Values

Uphold and promote the Company’s Core Values – Care, Trust, Respect and Sustainability.

    What We’re Looking For

About You You are organised and proactive with experience managing construction resources within complex industrial environments.
You thrive in a dynamic project setting, can manage competing priorities, and build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams. You will ideally have:

Significant experience in construction resource planning or operations management.

Experience within the petrochemical, oil & gas, refinery, energy, or other major industrial construction sectors.

Strong understanding of workforce planning, mobilisation, and subcontractor management.

Knowledge of construction delivery processes and project lifecycles.

Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience using Microsoft Office and resource planning or project management systems.

A sound understanding of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) requirements within high-hazard industries.
Relevant management or construction qualifications (HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent) are desirable. SMSTS or equivalent site management qualification is advantageous.
