How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A leading manufacturer of automation solutions for the plastics industry is seeking a talented Sales Engineer to join their growing team, covering customers across the North of the UK and Ireland.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong technical background in Injection Moulding who enjoys working with customers and wants to use their industry knowledge in a role that combines engineering expertise, problem-solving and relationship building.

    Up to £55,000 + bonus + car

    Homebased - North

    You will play a key role in understanding customer requirements, providing technical solutions, and helping manufacturers improve efficiency, productivity and automation within their operations.

    As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for:

    Identifying and developing new business opportunities across your territory.
    Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing, lapsed, and prospective customers.
    Visiting customer sites throughout the UK to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.
    Delivering technical advice and support, helping customers maximise productivity and efficiency.
    Promoting and selling automation solutions.
    Managing sales opportunities from initial enquiry through to quotation, negotiation, order and project completion.

    To be successful as a Sales Engineer, you will have:

    A strong technical understanding of injection moulding processes, machinery, and robotics / automation.
    Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels.
    A strong commercial awareness and a genuine interest in developing customer relationships.
    A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and manage your own territory.
    The ambition to build a long-term career in technical sales.
    A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel throughout the UK.
