How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Teacher

    Location: Buckinghamshire
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
    Contract: Full-time | Permanent (part-time applications may be considered)

    About the Role

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with a range of additional learning needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN professional or an enthusiastic teacher looking to develop their career within specialist education.

    The successful candidate will be committed to providing high-quality, personalised learning experiences that enable pupils to achieve their full potential in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
    Develop and implement personalised learning programmes in line with EHCP outcomes.
    Support pupils with a range of complex learning, communication and sensory needs.
    Foster positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
    Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals.
    Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
    Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and positive behaviour.
    Contribute to annual reviews, multi-disciplinary meetings and wider school life.
    About You

    We are looking for a teacher who has:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
    Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in either specialist or mainstream settings.
    Experience supporting pupils with complex needs, including:

    Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
    Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
    Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
    Communication and interaction needs
    Sensory processing differences
    Physical disabilities and medical needs (desirable)

    Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching strategies and inclusive practice.
    Experience working with alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton or AAC (desirable).
    A calm, patient and adaptable approach with excellent behaviour management skills.
    Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
