How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Manufacturing Engineer
    Location: Marden, Kent
    Salary: £36,000 - £45,000 per annum
    Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8.5 hours Monday to Thursday, 5 hours Friday)

    Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer looking for an opportunity where you can make a real impact? We're recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturer in Marden, Kent, where you'll play a key role in improving production processes, increasing efficiency and supporting operational excellence.

    Working closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, Purchasing and Production Control, you'll lead continuous improvement initiatives and help develop smarter, leaner manufacturing processes.

    The Role
    As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be responsible for optimising manufacturing operations through process improvement, lean methodologies and innovative production solutions.

    Your responsibilities will include:
    - Developing digital build instructions using Visual Factory software.
    - Creating and maintaining manufacturing routings and process documentation within SAP.
    - Designing and implementing jigs, fixtures, shadow boards and specialist tooling.
    - Improving factory layouts using CAD to maximise production flow.
    - Leading Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and 6S improvement projects.
    - Conducting root cause analysis using A3 problem-solving techniques.
    - Developing visual management boards and shop floor KPIs.
    - Working with Quality to embed robust assembly processes and reduce defects.
    - Reviewing production build times and identifying efficiency improvements.
    - Supporting Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
    - Producing and maintaining Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and FMEA documentation.
    - Promoting a safe, organised and efficient manufacturing environment.

    About You
    We're looking for a proactive Manufacturing Engineer with a passion for continuous improvement and a hands-on approach to solving manufacturing challenges.

    You'll ideally have:
    - Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineer role within a manufacturing or production environment.
    - Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
    - Experience using SAP to maintain production routings.
    - Proficiency with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
    - Experience designing tooling, fixtures and manufacturing processes.
    - Root cause analysis and structured problem-solving skills.
    - Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
    - The confidence to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
