Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Band 7 (and upwards) Emergency Nurse Practitioner, a vital role dedicated to delivering high-quality, immediate care in a fast-paced MUI emergency setting within a major national hospital .
In this position, you will utilize your advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and treat patients experiencing urgent health issues. Your expertise will help stabilize patients, coordinate care, and ensure positive health outcomes during critical moments. This is an ongoing temporary vacancy that could stretch way beyond 1 calendar year for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive patient care by evaluating symptoms, performing physical examinations, and developing treatment plans for emergency cases
* Administer medications and treatments accurately, following established protocols and safety guidelines
* Utilize your knowledge of human anatomy to identify injuries or illnesses quickly and effectively
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless treatment delivery
* Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care to promote understanding and recovery
* Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records, ensuring clarity and compliance with legal standards
* Respond promptly to emergency situations by prioritizing patient needs and mobilizing resources efficiently
Experience
* Proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in emergency or urgent care settings with a focus on patient-centred care. All candidates must have 1 year plus NHS experience.
* Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to accurately assess complex medical conditions
* Demonstrated ability to administer medications safely and effectively in high-pressure environments
* Excellent communication skills for clear patient education and effective teamwork within multidisciplinary teams
* Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with valid certification in emergency or acute care (or relevant specialization) with NMC Registration and Updated DBS (Not essential, but helpful)
* Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple urgent cases simultaneously.
