Role details:
Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is seeking a Senior Supportability Engineer with expertise in obsolescence management to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to Bristol as required, and spans a 12-month duration.
Key Responsibilities:
Operating in accordance with the ACC Project Obsolescence Management Plan
Reviewing and updating the Obsolescence Management Plan (OMP) as needed
Investigating change query issues directed by the Project Obsolescence Manager
Prioritising high-priority obsolescence queries and ensuring timely submissions
Evaluating and mitigating obsolescence risks aligned with IEC 62402:2019
Compiling solution documents with comprehensive evidence for Support Capabilities and Consumables (SCC)
Maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure minimal rejection of solution documents
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in obsolescence management within the defence and security sector
Understanding of ACC Project Obsolescence Management Plans
Proficiency in handling change query investigations and prioritising issues based on urgency
Knowledge of relevant standards, specifically IEC 62402:2019
Strong analytical skills to evaluate and mitigate risks
Excellent documentation skills for creating comprehensive solution documents
