How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Service Engineer – Hydraulics – Home Based - Midlands/South Coverage - £40k plus x1.5 overtime + bonus scheme + company van = £65k package
    Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Service Engineer with previous experience of working on hydraulics for a successful, well-established OEM.
    Key aspects of the Hydraulics Service Engineer roles include –
    * Successful Service Engineer must have recent, demonstrable hydraulics experience
    * Hydraulics qualifications would be useful – if you haven’t got them, the company will arrange for you to attend the training courses (Stages 1-3 at the National Fluid Power Centre).
    * Previous experience of working for a specialist hydraulics company or on a role heavily focused on hydraulics
    * Hydraulics Service Engineer will receive a float so never has to pay out up front for meals, expenses, hotels etc.
    * Service Engineers applying must have a UK driving licence and be able to work in the UK without sponsorship
    * Any pipe fitting and/or welding experience would be beneficial but not essential
    * Bonus scheme for work brought into the department from customers
    * 36 hour working week, all hours worked over 36 are paid overtime which starts at x1.5
    * The company’s base is in Leeds and they’re looking for a Service Engineer who lives in the Midlands who can service their Midlands and Southern based customers, occasional trips to Leeds may also be required
    * All travelling hours to site and to the Leeds facility are paid hours
    * Regularly weekly stop overs expected
    * Ford Transit Van with all required tools supplied
    Service Engineers applying for the role could live anywhere in the Midlands including places such as Birmingham, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Stafford, Telford, Worcester, Northampton, Warwick, Rugby, Tamworth and Stoke.
