How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Turner
    Location: New Milton, Hampshire
    Job Type: Permanent | Full Time (37 hours per week)

    Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking to join a well-established precision engineering business with a strong order book and long-term job security?

    We're recruiting on behalf of a respected manufacturer that has been producing high-quality precision components for over 60 years.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive environment where you'll benefit from knowledge transfer from long-serving engineers while working on complex, high-precision components.

    The Role
    You'll be responsible for setting, programming and operating CNC turning machinery while also carrying out manual turning and milling work. Working from engineering drawings, you'll manufacture precision components to tight tolerances and ensure the highest quality standards are maintained throughout production.

    Key Responsibilities
    Set, program and operate CNC turning machines.
    Carry out manual turning and milling operations.
    Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
    Manufacture precision components to tight tolerances.
    Perform in-process inspection and quality checks.
    Carry out routine machine maintenance.
    Work safely and in line with quality and manufacturing standards.
    Support the team in achieving production and delivery targets.About You
    2+ years' experience as a CNC Turner within a precision engineering environment.
    Experience with manual turning and milling.
    Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
    Fanuc programming experience is highly desirable.
    Experience of online programming would be advantageous.
    Knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001 or similar quality standards is beneficial.
    A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing quality work.
