Barker Ross is currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance & Cleaning Team Leader on behalf of our client based in Chichester.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on individual with experience in grounds maintenance, cleaning, and team leadership. You'll be responsible for leading a team delivering high-quality grounds maintenance and cleaning services across a range of residential housing sites, including general needs estates, sheltered accommodation, and extra care facilities throughout Sussex and Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team carrying out grounds maintenance and cleaning duties across multiple sites.
Organise daily workloads and ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard.
Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
Undertake grounds maintenance duties including mowing, strimming, weeding, hedge maintenance, and litter picking.
Complete cleaning duties including mopping, sweeping, dusting, and maintaining communal areas.
Quote for additional works and arrange completion where required.
Report repairs and maintenance issues within communal areas.
Monitor equipment and materials, ensuring machinery is safe to use and advise management when equipment or supplies need replacing.
Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.

Requirements

Previous experience in grounds maintenance and/or commercial cleaning.
Previous experience in a Team Leader or Supervisory role.
Full UK manual driving licence (essential).
Good organisational and communication skills.
Ability to motivate a team and maintain high standards.
A proactive, reliable, and customer-focused approach.
