An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Night Driver Trainer to join a growing logistics and transport operation. Supporting Transport Managers, Driver Administrators and the wider training team, you will be responsible for delivering driver training and ensuring compliance with Driver CPC requirements under a JAUPT-approved training scheme.
This is a varied and hands-on role that combines on-the-road driver assessments with classroom-based training. You will work closely with drivers to promote best practice in defensive driving, fuel efficiency, vehicle and trailer use, and overall operational safety.
Salary - Up to £38,000
Location - North West Region - covering multiple depot locations including Liverpool, Runcorn and Manchester.
Hours:Start time vary ranging start from 16:00-19:00 till finish
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Driver CPC training in line with a JAUPT-approved training scheme
Conduct on-the-road driver assessments and provide one-to-one coaching.
Deliver classroom-based training sessions for larger groups of drivers.
Assess driver performance and identify individual training needs
Promote best practice in defensive driving techniques.
Provide guidance on fuel-efficient driving and correct vehicle and trailer operation.
Support Transport Managers and Driver Administrators with driver development and compliance requirements.
Complete confidential training reports and assessment records electronically.
Ensure all training activity is accurately documented and maintained.
Coordinate training delivery around operational driver workloads.
Skills & Experience Required
Highly experienced HGV Class 1 Driver Trainer.
Strong working knowledge of container transport and distribution operations.
Experience conducting driver assessments and delivering practical driver training.
Ability to deliver both one-to-one coaching and classroom-based training.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to assess driver needs and provide clear instruction.
Confident completing confidential training reports and documentation.
Good IT literacy, including the use of electronic reporting systems.
Previous experience in a similar driver training role would be advantageous.
Travel Requirements
As part of this role, regular travel between depot locations across the North West region will be required in order to deliver training, conduct driver assessments and support operational needs.
A willingness and ability to travel is essential, and occasional overnight stays may be required.
