How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Are you experienced in Travel Sales, or just returned from travelling and keen to start a career in the Travel Industry? Do you enjoy working towards targets, whilst maintaining a high level of customer service? Based in a commutable distance from London, but looking for a mix of office based & homeworking? WE HAVE THE ROLE FOR YOU!!

    We are working with a reputable Tour Operator (who are based in the West End) who are looking for an experience Sales Consultant to join their friendly team.

    As a Sales Consultant, you will be expected to service both our Direct Clients & Travel Agent Partners with a professional and friendly manner at all times whilst dealing with their new booking enquiries.

    Responsibilities:

    * To handle inbound calls from both Direct clients & Travel agents in a professional manner (New Booking enquires).
    * To maximize every sales opportunity, upsell and cross-sell whenever required or appropriate.
    * To strive to achieve your monthly sales targets across all products and customer types.
    * To deliver exceptional customer service to our discerning, loyal customers who book high value trips.
    * To manage new enquiry and callback requests by responding within the expected time frame with excellent written communication skills.
    * Demonstrate the ability to multi-task between calls and emails.
    * Support with crisis events such as high & low water/flight changes/non-operational tours when and if required.
    * Confident in using multiple Microsoft programs especially excel with day-to-day workload, tasks and data entry.
    * Take day-to-day initiative and share knowledge with other team members.
    * To handle the overflow of customer service calls from direct/trade partners in a professional manner.

    Skills & Qualifications Required:

    * Strong focus on quality of service as well as quantity.
    * High attention to detail to ensure bookings are error free.
    * Strong GDS Knowledge.
    * Proven experience in a sales role, preferably within the travel industry, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    * Exceptional customer service skills.
    * The ability to be flexible and deal with non-sales workstreams when required.
    * Confident with Microsoft programmes.
    * Ability to work in a pressured environment.
    * Flexibility to work on a Rota Basis 37.5 hours per week between Monday - Sunday.
    * Excellent written and oral communication competency.
    * A willingness to take responsibility and to work as a part of a close team.
    * Ability to adapt to the company culture and live the company values.

    The package:
    * A salary of £26,000 + commission
