How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is a varied, client-facing role where no two days are the same. You'll work with organisations across multiple sectors, carrying out audits, inspections, risk assessments, training and consultancy services, helping clients improve compliance while embedding practical health and safety best practice.

    The Role

As a Health & Safety Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

    *

Conducting health and safety audits, inspections and compliance reviews across a variety of client sites.

    *

Producing detailed reports, legal compliance reviews and prioritised action plans.

    *

Completing a range of risk assessments including manual handling, DSE, COSHH and general workplace assessments.

    *

Supporting clients with the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of health and safety management systems.

    *

Providing practical health and safety advice to clients across a range of industries.

    *

Assisting with accident and incident investigations and preparing detailed investigation reports.

    *

Liaising with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders where required.

    *

Delivering health and safety training, presentations and workshops.

    *

Supporting clients with day-to-day health and safety management and, where required, providing interim consultancy support.

    *

Building and maintaining strong, professional relationships with clients.

    About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

    You will ideally have:

    *

A minimum of 2 years' experience within a Health & Safety role or consultancy environment.

    *

A good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.

    *

Excellent report writing and communication skills.

    *

The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

    *

    Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

    *

Confidence communicating with people at all levels of an organisation.

    *

A professional, proactive and customer-focused approach.

    *

    A full UK Driving Licence.

    *

Eligibility to work in the UK.

    Desirable

    *

    Tech IOSH membership or higher.

    *

Experience within construction, manufacturing, engineering or similar sectors.

    *

Knowledge of CDM Regulations and Fire Safety.

    *

Experience delivering health and safety training.

    What's on Offer

    *

    Competitive salary

    *

25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays

    *

Additional day off for your birthday

    *

    Company pension scheme

    *

Mileage paid at 55p per mile

    *

    Ongoing professional development and training

    *

The opportunity to work with a diverse client base across multiple sectors
