How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Combustion Service Engineer

    Milton Keynes & Surrounding Area

    £46,000 Basic Salary + Door-to-Door Travel + Overtime + Company Van

    Are you an experienced Combustion Service Engineer with a background in industrial steam or hot water boilers?

    Would you like to join a well-established manufacturer that genuinely invests in its engineers through ongoing training, excellent earning potential and long-term career development?

    We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer of industrial steam boilers and combustion equipment who are expanding their UK Service Team. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a skilled engineer to cover the Milton Keynes & surrounding area.

    This is a varied field-based role where no two days are the same. You'll be working with a wide range of industrial boiler and combustion systems, providing first-class service and support to customers across your region.

    The Role

    As a Combustion Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

    Servicing, maintaining and repairing industrial steam and hot water boilers
    Commissioning new equipment
    Fault finding on gas and non-gas systems
    Gas maintenance and gas safety inspections
    Boiler upgrades and modifications
    Carrying out site surveys
    Completing risk assessments
    Providing outstanding customer service
    Supporting customers with technical advice when required

    What We're Looking For

    Ideally you'll have experience working on industrial steam or hot water boilers and have a solid understanding of combustion systems and industrial multi-fuel burners. However, additional manufacturer training will be provided for the right engineer.

    Essential Qualifications

    COCN1 - Core Commercial Gas Safety (or CODNC01)
    ICPN1 - First Fix Installation of Commercial Pipework
    CIGA1 - Indirect Fired Appliances
    TPCP1 - Testing & Purging >1m³
    BMP1 - Gas Boosters (up to 0.5 bar)
    CoNGLP1 PD - Natural Gas to LPG Changeover

    The Person

    You'll be someone who:

    Has a strong multi-disciplined service background
    Can work independently and manage your own workload
    Enjoys fault finding and solving technical problems
    Delivers excellent customer service
    Works well under pressure while remaining a team player
    Holds a full UK driving licence
