How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic
    Location: Bridgend
    Salary: £32,000 Basic Depending on Experience | OTE £40,000+ | Overtime Paid at Time & a Half + Efficiency Bonus
    Hours: Full-Time, Permanent

    The Role
    As a Vehicle Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of workmanship while delivering outstanding customer satisfaction.
    Your responsibilities will include:
    ·Carrying out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs to manufacturer standards
    ·Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
    ·Completing vehicle health checks and identifying additional work where required
    ·Performing repairs efficiently while maintaining exceptional quality standards
    ·Completing all job cards and workshop documentation accurately
    ·Ensuring all work complies with manufacturer and health & safety procedures
    ·Working collaboratively with the workshop team to maximise productivity and efficiency
    ·Providing technical advice and delivering excellent customer service
     
    About You
    To be successful in this role you'll ideally have:
    ·NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
    ·A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Mechanic, Automotive Technician or Car Mechanic
    ·Strong servicing, repair and diagnostic skills
    ·MOT Licence desirable but not essential
    ·Your own tools and toolbox
    ·Full UK Manual Driving Licence
    ·Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
    ·A positive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
