How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Sales Administrator
    Location: Home Based (UK)
    Salary: £26,000 per annum
    Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday with a half day on Friday)

    About the Role
    We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, Calder Lead, for an experienced and organised Sales Administrator to join their growing sales support team.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. Working remotely, you will play a key role in supporting customers, processing orders accurately, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the sales function.

    This is a home-based position with occasional travel (approximately four times per year) to attend team meetings at either the Chester or Gateshead office.

    Key ResponsibilitiesOrder Processing
    Process customer purchase orders accurately and efficiently.

    Enter and maintain sales orders using the IBM AS400 system.

    Check pricing, product availability, delivery details and order accuracy.

    Liaise with production, planning and logistics teams to ensure orders are delivered on time.

    Customer Service
    Handle incoming customer enquiries via telephone and email.

    Provide delivery updates and estimated delivery times.

    Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

    Deliver a professional and responsive customer experience at all times.

    Complaint Resolution
    Manage customer queries and complaints in a professional manner.

    Investigate issues relating to deliveries, products, invoices or service.

    Work closely with internal departments to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

    Sales Administration
    Produce customer invoices and supporting documentation.

    Maintain accurate customer and order records.

    Organise and file sales documentation in line with company procedures.

    Assist with reporting and general administrative duties.

    Provide additional support to the wider Sales and Commercial teams when required.

    About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:

    Essential Skills & Experience
    Previous experience within a Sales Administration, Customer Service or Order Processing role.

    Excellent communication skills with a confident and professional telephone manner.

    Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

    Excellent organisational and time management skills.

    The ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines in a busy environment.

    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word.

    A proactive, positive and customer-focused approach.

    Desirable
    Experience using IBM AS400 or a similar ERP/order processing system.

    Previous experience within manufacturing, construction materials or distribution environments.

    Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
