How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    MEP Project Manager

    Thames Valley Park, Reading
    £350-£400 per day (Outside IR35)
    Long-Term Contract | September Start

    The Opportunity

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing M&E contractor that has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects across the South East.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an experienced MEP Project Manager to lead the delivery of a £3.5 million CAT B commercial fit-out at Thames Valley, Reading.

The project comprises a CAT B fit-out across three floors delivered over three phases, providing an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative business with a strong pipeline of future work. Following successful delivery of this scheme, there will be opportunities to move onto specialist laboratory refurbishment and office-to-laboratory conversion projects across Oxfordshire.

    The Role

Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the MEP package from pre-construction through to handover.

You will act as the primary point of contact for the client on site, coordinating subcontractors across all MEP disciplines while ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will be supported by an experienced Site Manager who has worked with the business for over two years, alongside regular involvement from the Head of Operations and Operations Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

Manage the full MEP package on a £3.5m CAT B commercial fit-out

Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle

Act as the main client-facing representative on site

Attend and chair meetings with clients, consultants, architects, design teams, project managers, and subcontractors

Manage programme, procurement, and project delivery from pre-construction through to completion

Ensure all works are delivered safely, on programme, and within budget

Monitor commercial performance alongside the commercial team

Review technical information, manage RFIs, and coordinate design issues

Oversee commissioning, snagging, and final handover

Manage and support the on-site Site Manager

Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project

    About You

We're looking to speak with experienced MEP Project Managers who have successfully delivered commercial building services projects.

An Electrical bias would be advantageous, but candidates with a Mechanical background and proven MEP project delivery experience are equally encouraged to apply.

    Requirements

Proven experience as an MEP, Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager within the Building Services sector

Experience delivering commercial CAT A/CAT B fit-out or refurbishment projects

Experience managing MEP packages valued at approximately £3 million+

Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills

Experience managing multiple subcontractors across all MEP disciplines

Excellent programme, commercial and project management skills
