How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Your new company

Our client is a well-respected claimant practice with offices nationwide. They are currently recruiting for multiple clinical negligence solicitors or chartered legal executives of all levels to join on a largely home-working basis. You can expect a competitive salary, bonus structure and plenty of working from home.

    Your new role

These Clinical Negligence solicitor/CILEx roles will see you:

Manage a claimant clinical negligence caseload, with claim value, complexity, and level of autonomy determined by PQE and demonstrated capability
Conduct day‑to‑day case handling from initial instruction through to resolution, including pre‑action, litigation, and settlement stages
Assess liability, breach of duty, causation, and quantum, providing clear and realistic advice to clients throughout the lifecycle of the claim
Draft and respond to key legal documentation, including Letters of Claim, schedules of loss, pleadings, and witness statements
Instruct and liaise with medical experts, counsel, and other professionals to support case progression.
Progress claims in a proactive, timely, and cost‑effective manner in line with the Pre‑Action Protocol for Clinical Disputes
Negotiate settlements where appropriate and prepare matters for litigation, ADR, or trial as required.
Maintain high standards of client care, communication, compliance, and accurate time recording

    What you'll need to succeed

    ESSENTIAL:

Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive (NQ+)
Previous experience handling your own caseload or assisting on clinical negligence matters.
Working knowledge of the Pre‑Action Protocol for the Resolution of Clinical Disputes and relevant court procedures
Ability to analyse breach of duty, causation, and quantum in clinical negligence claims
Experience drafting key legal documentation, including Letters of Claim and other pre‑action correspondence
Strong case management skills with the ability to progress claims proactively and efficiently
Excellent client care and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and medical issues clearly
Effective organisational and time‑management skills, including accurate time recording and file management
    DESIRABLE:

Experience managing higher‑value or complex clinical negligence claims, including catastrophic injury cases
Previous experience conducting litigation, including drafting pleadings and managing cases through to settlement or trial
Experience instructing and liaising with medical experts, chambers, and counsel
Confidence in negotiating settlements and resolving claims through ADR where appropriate
Familiarity with costs budgeting, schedules of loss, and funding arrangements
Experience working within a claimant‑focused clinical negligence team
Willingness to contribute to business development, knowledge sharing, or mentoring of junior colleagues

    What you'll get in return

This is a fantastic opportunity for clinical negligence solicitors or chartered legal executives where you can expect a full and interesting caseload of claimant clinical negligence cases, working as part of a Band 1 ranked team. You can expect a competitive salary and bonus structure alongside a high-level of home working.
