How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Production Supervisor
    Arreton, Isle of Wight
£14.90 per hour | Full Time | Temp to Perm

Pertemps Isle of Wight are recruiting for a hands-on Production Supervisor to join a busy food manufacturing business in Arreton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being involved on the production floor, leading by example and working as part of a small, close-knit team. If you have experience in food manufacturing, production or both, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Role

This isn't a desk-based supervisory position. You'll be working alongside the team every day, helping to produce high-quality food products while ensuring production runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.

    You'll be responsible for:

Supervising and supporting a small production team.

Working hands-on within the production process.

    Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ensuring all Critical Control Points (CCPs) and food safety procedures are followed.

Maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and health & safety.

    Completing production records accurately.

Supporting continuous improvements across the production facility.

    What We're Looking For

    You'll be someone who:

Has experience within a food manufacturing or production environment (experience in both is highly desirable).

Is comfortable working in a hands-on role rather than from an office.

Understands the importance of following SOPs and food safety procedures.

Can lead by example and motivate a small team.

Is organised, reliable and takes pride in producing quality products.

Is physically fit and happy working in a production environment.

    Working Hours
    40 hours per week.

    Monday to Friday day shifts.

Seasonal weekend work required (April to November).

    Flexibility to meet production demands.

    What's in it for you?

When you join through Pertemps, you'll benefit from:

Weekly or monthly pay - your choice.

    Free on-site parking.

    Online timesheet and payslip system.

Support from a dedicated local Pertemps consultant throughout your temporary assignment.

A genuine opportunity to secure a permanent position with the client.

Once you move into a permanent role, you'll also receive a great range of company benefits, including employee discounts, pension, holiday entitlement, learning and development opportunities, ferry discounts and more.

If you're looking for a role where you can get stuck in, lead from the front and be part of a successful food production team, apply today.
