How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

    We are looking for an experienced Operational Technology (OT) Technician to join a growing Cyber & Digital team, supporting the delivery of Operational Technology projects across a range of industrial sites.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working on SCADA systems, PLCs, industrial control systems and electrical installations who enjoys a hands-on, site-based role. You'll play a key part in delivering OT installations, supporting commissioning activities, supervising contractors and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

    What You'll Be Doing

    As an Operational Technology Technician, your responsibilities will include:

    * Installing, modifying and removing SCADA-related equipment in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and work procedures.

    * Carrying out site surveys to support project planning and engineering design activities.

    * Acting as the key liaison between site operators, contractors and engineering teams during site works.

    * Managing and administering Permit to Work systems.

    * Supervising contractors on site, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

    * Maintaining daily records of contractor attendance and site activities.

    * Supporting engineers with planning site works, commissioning activities and testing procedures.

    * Carrying out minor wiring modifications on control panels, including intrinsically safe (IS) and communications bus wiring.

    * Monitoring construction progress against project schedules and labour targets.

    * Ensuring all work complies with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and industry standards.

    * Travelling to sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays where required.

    What We're Looking For

    To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

    Qualifications

    * Relevant electrical qualifications suitable for carrying out wiring modifications on SCADA or control panels.

    * Good knowledge of the IET Wiring Regulations.

    * CCNSG Safety Passport (or equivalent).

    * Ability to obtain and maintain Authorised Electrical Person status (minimum NVQ equivalent qualification).

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    Skills & Experience

    We're interested in candidates who have experience with:

    * SCADA systems and industrial control equipment.

    * PLC-based control systems.

    * Electrical panel wiring and modifications.

    * Industrial communications networks.

    * Site surveys and project planning.

    * Commissioning and testing activities.

    * Contractor supervision and site management.

    * Working within highly regulated industrial or engineering environments.

    * Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.

    * Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.

    * The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

    * Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety.

    Why Apply?

    This is a fantastic opportunity to work on technically challenging Operational Technology projects across the UK, with exposure to modern industrial control systems and critical infrastructure. You'll join a collaborative engineering team where you'll have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise while playing an important role in the successful delivery of site-based OT projects
