How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Student Welfare Officer

    Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping create a positive school experience? We are currently recruiting for a Student Welfare Officer to join a friendly and inclusive secondary school in Ealing. This is a full-time opportunity, working Monday to Friday, with a September start.

    The school is a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Ealing, dedicated to ensuring students feel safe, valued and able to achieve their full potential. With a strong focus on pastoral care, safeguarding and student wellbeing, the school provides a positive environment where staff work together to support every learner.

    As a Student Welfare Officer, you will be responsible for providing essential welfare and pastoral support to students throughout the school day. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and families to help address student needs and ensure appropriate support is provided.

    Please note: A valid First Aid qualification is compulsory for this position. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of their certification before commencing the role.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Providing day-to-day welfare and pastoral support to students

    Responding to student medical needs and administering first aid when required

    Supporting safeguarding processes and recording concerns accurately

    Building positive relationships with students, parents and school staff

    Monitoring student wellbeing, attendance and engagement

    Working with internal teams and external professionals to provide appropriate support

    Maintaining confidential and accurate student records
