How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An established public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of procurement and contract management projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative procurement team at a time of significant activity, helping to drive value, compliance, contract coverage and service improvement across a broad range of categories. The organisation is committed to professional procurement practices and is looking for someone who can provide expert advice, challenge stakeholders constructively and deliver tangible commercial outcomes.

    Your new role

    As Interim Procurement Manager, you will lead end-to-end procurement activity, manage a portfolio of contracts and support the development of robust sourcing and renewal strategies. Key responsibilities will include:

    Managing procurement projects from market engagement through to contract award and implementation.
    Developing and maintaining contract portfolios and renewal plans.
    Providing expert procurement and commercial advice to stakeholders.
    Running RFQ, tender and quotation processes, including evaluation and negotiation activities.
    Undertaking spend analysis and identifying opportunities for efficiencies, savings and service improvements.
    Leading supplier and contract management activities to drive performance and value.
    Producing business cases, procurement reports, presentations and sourcing recommendations.
    Supporting compliance with Procurement Act 2023 requirements, governance procedures and procurement best practice.
    Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    Supporting procurement transformation, continuous improvement and customer satisfaction initiatives.
    Potentially managing or mentoring junior procurement colleagues depending on experience. What you'll need to succeed

    To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

    Proven public sector procurement experience.
    Strong knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 and public procurement regulations.
    Experience managing end-to-end tendering and sourcing exercises.
    Contract management and supplier relationship management experience.
    Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
    Strong analytical, commercial and negotiation capabilities.
    Experience producing procurement reports, business cases and spend analysis.
    CIPS membership, working towards CIPS, or equivalent procurement experience.
    Strong IT skills including Excel and procurement systems.
    The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within tight timescales. What you'll get in return
