How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Student Welfare Officer - Hammersmith & Fulham

    Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping students achieve their full potential? We are currently recruiting for a Student Welfare Officer to join a successful secondary school in Hammersmith and Fulham. This is a full-time position, working 5 days per week, with a September start.

    The school is a welcoming and inclusive secondary school located in Hammersmith and Fulham, committed to creating a positive environment where students feel supported, valued and encouraged to succeed. The school places a strong emphasis on student wellbeing, safeguarding and providing effective pastoral support.

    As a Student Welfare Officer, you will play a key role in supporting students with their welfare needs, working closely with staff, families and external agencies to ensure students receive the right support.

    Please note: A valid First Aid qualification is compulsory for this role. Successful applicants will be required to provide proof of their certification before starting.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Supporting students with welfare and pastoral needs
    Providing first aid support when required
    Monitoring student attendance, wellbeing and engagement
    Building positive relationships with students, parents and staff
    Supporting safeguarding procedures and recording concerns appropriately
    Working alongside pastoral teams to provide early intervention
    Assisting students who may need additional guidance or supportBenefits of the role:
