How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Fulfilment Team Leader (212jc) - Snodland, Kent - Up to £47,000 + Overtime (OTE £50,000) + Benefits

Ex-Mil Recruitment is working with an expanding organisation seeking a hands-on Fulfilment Team Leader to take ownership of a busy and demanding warehouse operation.

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

This role would suit a former JNCO/SNCO who enjoys leading from the front, improving processes and building a high-performing team. If you've managed people, coordinated logistics or supervised operational activity during your military career or have developed these skills in civilian employment this could be an excellent next step.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of 6-8 warehouse operatives, ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately whilst driving improvements in productivity, communication and overall operational performance.

    The Opportunity

This is more than just a supervisory role as the business is investing heavily in improving its warehouse operation and is looking for someone who can introduce structure, accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.

You'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact by helping transform the operation into a next-day delivery service whilst developing an engaged and motivated team.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Lead, motivate and develop a team of warehouse operatives.

    - Plan daily workloads and allocate tasks effectively.

    - Ensure customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.

    - Drive improvements in warehouse efficiency and productivity.

    - Conduct daily team briefings and maintain clear communication across departments.

    - Monitor attendance, performance and standards, addressing issues promptly and professionally.

    - Work closely with Stock Control, Customer Service and Dispatch teams to ensure smooth operations.

    - Produce simple operational reports for senior management.

    - Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety and organisation.

    - Lead from the front by supporting warehouse activities whenever required.

We're Looking for Someone Who Has:

    - Previous experience leading or supervising a warehouse, logistics or fulfilment team.

    - Strong planning and organisational skills.

    - The ability to motivate and develop others.

    - A calm, structured approach under pressure.

    - Good communication skills and confidence dealing with different departments.

    - Basic IT skills including warehouse systems, email and spreadsheets.

    - A forklift licence would be advantageous, although training can be provided.

    Ideal Military Backgrounds

This role could be particularly well suited to individuals from Royal Logistic Corps (RLC), Royal Engineers, RAF and Royal Navy Logistics, as well as Supply Chain or Stores Management, Transport Management, Warehouse & Distribution and Equipment Support

Previous civilian warehouse leadership experience would be highly advantageous.

    You'll be someone who:

    - Leads by example.

    - Takes ownership of results.

    - Maintains high standards.

    - Communicates clearly.

    - Organises people effectively.

    - Solves problems before they become issues.

    - Thrives in a fast-moving operational environment.

    Salary & Benefits

    - Up to £47,000 basic salary

    - Overtime available (OTE circa £50,000)

    - 23 days + Bank Holidays

    - Monthly performance bonus, split between attendance and productivity

    - Monday-Friday working pattern

    - Ongoing training and development

    - Opportunity to shape and improve an established warehouse operation

    - Long-term career prospects within a growing business

    Hours:

    Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Flexibility to work alternate Saturday mornings (paid at overtime rates).

If you're leaving the Armed Forces, have already transitioned into civilian employment, or are an experienced warehouse leader looking for your next challenge, we'd like to hear from you.
