About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school in Durham, seeking a talented and enthusiastic French Teacher to join their successful Modern Foreign Languages department from September 2026 until March 2027.
This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and ambitious school environment, delivering high-quality French lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their language skills, cultural understanding, and confidence in both spoken and written French.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging French lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Assess, monitor, and support student progress
Create a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students
Promote a passion for languages and cultural awareness
Contribute positively to the wider school community

Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Experience teaching French within a UK secondary school
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Modern Foreign Languages
The ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities
Two professional references covering the last two years
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
A proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach to teaching
