The Role
As a Teacher of Economics, you will:
Deliver engaging and challenging Economics lessons, primarily at Key Stage 5.
Inspire students to develop a strong understanding of economic theories and contemporary global issues.
Encourage independent thinking, analytical skills, and debate.
Prepare students for examination success through outstanding classroom practice.
Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and drive achievement.
Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities.
Support students with higher education and career aspirations in economics, finance, and related fields.
Play an active role within the wider life of the school community.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be working towards achieving QTS.
A degree in Economics or a closely related discipline.
Excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for their specialist area.
Experience teaching Economics at secondary or post-16 level, although ECTs are encouraged to apply.
The ability to motivate, challenge, and inspire students of all abilities.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
High expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
A commitment to raising standards and promoting academic excellence.
A genuine passion for helping young people understand the economic forces shaping today's world.
